What's strange is, as I mentioned during calibrations white looks like it should, the moment ICC profile is created, by any of the software I used so far (Spyder, iProfiler, DUCCS, Displa圜AL) white turns yellow / brown. From that point, no calibrator and no software can set whites white.
Maybe that has knocked something off in the settings somewhere. Thank you for your input Thinking about it, all problems started when I have uninstalled Spyder software and installed Argyll + Displa圜AL. (BTW: you may find "funny" results with whitepoint, Color Navigator and Eizo CS entry models) I won't buy a Benq widegamut, not a LG widegamut, not an Asus widegamut, not a Dell widegamut.

My AMD card + Displa圜AL over any OSD mode (even calibrated CAL1/CAL2) smooths all greys to neutral, zero banding.ĥ-My next monitor will be a NEC PA, I have no doubts (just waiting for a Spectraview II update to solve some issues I've read fro the new models). White 255 (in that Live CD) should look white. Now you should have a monitor with D65 & uncalibrated grey. Start calibration, set all RGB bars until you get white. Choose proper spectral correction (RG phosphor), choose D65 white. Run it, get ArgyllCMS binaries + Displa圜AL fro linux. Even a more drastic approach: get a linux DVD live. Hence I cannot say if the yellow you report is your fault (misconfiguration).ģ-"As soon as the profile is created and loaded, white turns yellow." Check if you mess with Windows Night mode or f.lux or some of those weird and useless app/features. HERE we'll see if colorimeter sees wrong or not.Ģ-I do not see what correction for colorimeter dis you use, or Displa圜AL tabs configuration. Validate which white you get after DCCS with Displa圜AL and RG phosphor correction for i1d3. Get DIspla圜Al & Argyll (ZIP standalone -my choice- or installer). Plug i1d3, Windows will detect it as a HID device (no drivers!). Set it as Default profile in color management, devices tab, use my configuration. Make sure that default display profile is the empty profile from U3014 driver, a very few KBs file. Make sure that you have no Xrite services, all clean. Uninstall it, reboot, uninstall all Xrite & dell software (including Xrite services), reboot. It is written in ArgyllCMS/Displa圜AL doc.

Displa圜AL does not need a driver for i1d3. It's a HID device: plug it into Win/linux/osx, and it works.

I would like to ask whether anything changed since your last comment there? Do I really need to change my colorimeter and my GPU to get accurate results? Could you please also explain also, why AMD card is better for this?Īdditional question, if I was meant to buy a different Dell (or other) monitor now (I am a photo retoucher), which one would you recommend (30" or bigger)?ġ- You DO NOT NEED to install drivers for i1d3. I will be trying the workaround you mentioned to use corrections, but you mention that AMD card is also required. I have read the other thread and noticed that you recommend the X-Rite i1Display Pro.

Here is what the Verification tool in Displa圜AL tells me after the monitor was calibrated using Displa圜AL, Spyder 4 Elite and Nvidia 1080 GPU. I have tried to calibrate it using multiple settings in Displa圜AL software but the results are always the same. The white point seem to be wrong and the whole display looks very yellow. To battle this, I have recently installed Displa圜AL, but the results are very poor. I see green tint to my grays on U3014 using the Spyder 4 software. I have never been fully happy with calibration on these monitors. First with U3011 (which is dead now), and then with U3014. I have been battling with my Dell monitors for a while now.
